Email Newsletter
The email newsletter is your full-length, warm pastoral email for the week — typically 400–600 words covering the sermon preview, all announcements, prayer requests, and your sign-off.
How to access
After you've generated content for a week, the Email Newsletter panel is the first one shown.
Two formats: HTML and plain text
Midweek generates both versions of every email:
- Preview — the styled HTML version, rendered as your subscribers will see it
- Plain Text — the same content as plain text, for systems that strip HTML or for accessibility
- HTML Source — the raw HTML, useful if you want to paste into an email tool that wants source code
Toggle between them with the buttons at the top of the panel.
How to send it
Midweek doesn't send the email for you (intentionally — your existing email tool already handles list management, deliverability, and unsubscribes). Instead:
- Click Copy HTML (for tools like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Constant Contact)
- Or Copy Plain Text (for simpler systems or if you prefer plain emails)
- Paste into your email tool, set the subject line, and send
Merge variables
If you've configured an Email Integration, the email will include personalized greeting variables (like *|FNAME|* for Mailchimp). Don't edit these — they're inserted exactly as your email tool expects them.
Tips
- Set a great subject line. The AI doesn't write subject lines (yet) — that's still on you. Sermon title or a question from the announcements usually works.
- Send mid-week, not Sunday morning. Tuesday or Wednesday gets better open rates than Sunday at 7 AM.
- Copy HTML, not Plain Text, into Mailchimp/ConvertKit. They'll auto-generate the plain text version on send.
