Upcoming Events
The Upcoming Events blurb is a single short teaser (under 280 characters) about the most important upcoming event or announcement for the week. It appears on your Public Link Page so first-time visitors immediately see what's happening next.
How to access
After generating a week, find the Upcoming Events channel panel.
What it's for
This isn't an exhaustive event list — it's a hook. One or two warm sentences pointing to the single most important upcoming thing:
- A special service
- An event with date/time
- A signup deadline
- A new sermon series kickoff
Where it shows up
Automatically on your Link Page (midweek.app/c/your-church) when you publish the week. You don't have to copy or share it manually.
Why 280 characters
It's tweet-length on purpose. Link Page visitors skim — short and punchy beats comprehensive every time. Anything longer gets ignored.
What if there's nothing upcoming?
If your week genuinely has no upcoming events beyond Sunday's regular service, the AI returns an empty Upcoming Events panel. That's fine — your Link Page just won't show the "What's Next" card that week.
Tips
- Pick the one event that matters most. If you list everything, nothing stands out.
- Skip the sermon — that's already shown elsewhere on the Link Page.
- No links here. They eat character budget and don't render in this card.
